Orders on hold

Mark the job that is waiting for a part, the customer or an authorization, and see the reason and the days in the list.

What it is for

Sometimes a job is approved or in progress, but nobody is working on it: a part is missing, the customer has not answered or the authorization has not arrived. The on-hold mark shows this in the list, with the reason and how many days it has been that way.

Put an order on hold

It works on Approved and In Progress orders.

In two taps

1. Open the order
Tap Put on hold, below the blue button. The same item is in the … menu.
2. Pick the reason
Waiting for a part, Waiting for the customer, Waiting for authorization or Other reason. The tap saves the mark.

See what is on hold

On Home, tap the On hold filter. The oldest orders come first, with a line such as "On hold for 3 days · Waiting for a part". The same line shows in the other filters, with an orange dot beside it. If the order is also overdue, the dot is red.

Resume, complete or cancel

While an order is on hold, the blue button is Resume work. The tap removes the mark and the order keeps its status.

Complete
Changing the status to completed removes the mark.
Cancel
Canceling the order also removes the mark.
Record
Putting on hold and resuming leave an internal comment on the order, with the reason or the days on hold. The customer does not see this comment.

Who can use it

Whoever changes the status of an approved or running order can put it on hold and resume it: owner, admin, manager, supervisor and technician. Technicians do it on the orders they can open. Consultants see the mark but cannot change it. See roles.

FAQ

Does the customer see that the order is on hold?

No. The mark, the reason and the comment stay with your team. They do not show on the order link or on the PDF.

Does it change what I have to receive?

No. The Financial tab does not read the mark: an order on hold counts as it did before.

Can I put a quote on hold?

No. The mark works only on Approved and In Progress orders.

Is it the same as the stalled orders alert in Reminders?

No. That alert counts orders open for more than 7 days, marked or not. See Reminders.
